Urfa, Turkey– Activists reported that members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) beheaded four young Kurdish men under the pretext of supporting rebel forces of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the al-Akrad Front, and for backing “PKK members” as the ISIL is in conflict with the PKK’s Syrian affiliate, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Hasakah, Raqqa and Aleppo.
On Sunday, activists published on social media networks pictures of 4 young Kurdish men, among them a 16-year old boy, whom the ISIL beheaded in Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
“The four men were executed and beheaded in public,” said activists.
Websites close to the ISIL published a photo of an ISIL member carrying two decapitated heads in his hands, stating that they were PKK members and that they were beheaded in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Meanwhile, media outlets close to the Popular Protection Units (YPG) −military arm of PYD− said that the beheaded men were Kurdish civilians and were executed due to having ties with the Kurdish al-Akrad Front − anti-Assad rebel group.
