ISIL declares Caliphate in Syria and Iraq

Kobane, Syria – Al-Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) declared officially on Sunday ‘the Islamic Caliphate’, inaugurating Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIL as Caliph of Islam in both Syria and Iraq.

In an audio recording, the ISIL spokesperson, Abu Mohammed Adnani, stated for the first time the frank name of al-Baghdadi as Abdullah Ibrahim bin Awad al-Samarrai, whose lineage attributed to the tribe of Quraish, according to Adnani.

Al-Baghdadi accepted the caliphate and canceled the terms of Iraq and Syria from the name of the new Caliphate as being only the ‘Islamic State’ from the issuance of this word.

Adnani confirmed that it is the duty of all Muslims to swear allegiance to the Caliph, and nullify all the emirates, states and organizations, which the newly Islamic State authority reaches, adding that all groups and organizations of other Islamic factions legitimacy was invalidated, and each one tries to split, must be fought.

The ISIL took control lately over several governorates in Iraq, committing ‘massacres’ against the Iraqi soldiers. Usually, ISIL describes its opponents as ‘Apostates’ and ‘Awakening’, according to official statements released by the ISIL -linked media outlets.
