Damascus, Syria – Ten civilians were reported dead and at least fifteen others were injured in aerial bombardment by the Syrian regime’s warplanes in the city of Duma in Eastern Ghouta of the Damascus countryside on Wednesday.
Civil activist Ahmad al-Sabagh told ARA News in Damascus that the regime’s missiles targeted residential neighbourhoods in Duma killing ten civilians, mainly women and children.
Al-Sabagh added that the regime’s artillery on Mount al-Madea’ targeted the town of al-Mokaylebah in the western suburb of Damascus, which caused injuries among civilians,who were later moved to the town’s field hospital.
Speaking to ARA News in Damascus, civil activist Mazen Ibrahim reported that the Syrian regime’s aircrafts bombarded the Ain Tarma and ad-Dukhaniyah districts in the countryside of Damascus on Wednesday evening, using rockets and heavy machine guns.
“Ground-ground missiles targeted the Ain Tarma valley from the regime’s strongholds in the Air Defence Branch in al-Mleha town,” Ibrahim said.
Meanwhile, the al-Adawi neighbourhood in central Damascus was hit with mortar shells, which caused the death of one civilian, local sources reported.
In the meantime, pro-Assad forces installed barriers on the roads leading to Damascus from Qudssaya and the towns of al-Hameh, paralyzing civilians movement, according to activists.
